Location
The Errington School of Woodwork and Design is located near the
village of Errington and close to Englishman River Falls Provincial
Park.
Errington Village is about five kilometres west of Parksville
and Qualicum, the closest towns. This area on the eastern coast
of Vancouver Island is populated with many small seaside communities.
Because of the affable climate, the spectacular mountain views,
the sandy beaches and the sheltered waters of Georgia Strait, people
like to spend their vacation time here and increasingly there are
those who build retirement homes in what has become known as Oceanside.
The school itself sits on forested land, typical of the lower
slopes of Mount Arrowsmith to the west. The atmosphere is quiet
and peaceful.
About thirty minutes north of Nanaimo on the Vancouver Island
Highway (19 North), you will see an exit sign for Englishman River
Falls. Take Highway 4A by turning off at Exit 51(Parksville/Coombs)
Turn left in the direction of Coombs. This will take you west
along Highway 4A. Follow the posted route until you see signs for
the Englishman River Falls turnoff. The turnoff is at Errington
Road. It will be on your left.
Errington Road will take you through the village of Errington
and towards the Falls. Continue along Errington Road for about
five more kilometres. You will pass over the bridge at Morrison
Creek.
A little further on is the turnoff to the left for Dobson Road.
Proceed along Dobson Road to the first road on the left. This is
Lorna Lane.
The school is located at 1814 Lorna Lane. If you get lost call
us at 250-954-3202 for helpful directions.
